This stuff makes your eyes hurt

So, this is the first time I've done INTENSE cross-hatching.
Each time I looked at this picture,
I swear my vision was warped.
Done with about 3.5 hours of work
during over a period of several classes with Matt.

I have a headache from high hell...

The title says it all.
This day was crappy.
School's a drag.
But I was 110% while walking to Dunkin Donuts from my school.
The leaves are all changing colors,
and it was the perfect temp outside (not too hot, not too cold).
I wish all days were like Autumn.
The colors are just mesmerizing.
Anyways, forgot to post this picture earlier.
It's one I greatly admire,
and I'm surprised I cranked this bad-boy out,
especially in the middle of US History.

THIS DAY IS AMAZING.

How can a day where you chuck out 150 bucks be amazing?
When it's worth it.
I went and got myself a pair
of high quality noise canceling headphones.
And they were so worth the money.
I can't even hear myself typing on the keyboard.
All I've heard for the past 5 hours is music.
Lots and lots of music.
It lead me to do a few drawings.
One of which being this one for a friend of mine.
She likes lemurs.
And the color pink.
Lo and behold,
my creation.

Greetings Abby

So my friend and I have this little thing between us.
Some time ago, I absentmindedly called him a "sly arctic fox."
And so, he retorted back by calling me a "majestic snowy owl."
Lo and behold, characters were born.
This is Abby, or A.B. (Short for Aurora Borealis).
She's a snowy owl.
Soon to make his debut will be Dallas,
and you guessed it, he's part arctic fox.

NEW HAIR!

I like.
Very much.
Though apparently, my mother does not.
lol.

I love my sister...

So, my friend Gina's birthday is on the 1st.
This woman means so much to me.
She's like the sister I should have had.
She has been there for me all throughout life,
and I can't thank her enough for the things
that she's done for me.
So, since I can't find words to express

my immense gratitude towards this person's
existence,
I figured I'd draw her a picture :]

We had a theory as to what our children
would look like if we were to spawn a few.
On the left is Grim, and on the right
is Silas. Grim is some form of feline,
while Silas is like his mother; a spotted Hyena.
That's blue.
Yay.

My name is NOT Tanya.

Matt, you and Mason can go take a hike.
You and your hand phones.

Anyways, this is the line art
and colored version of something I made in class.
Dear God... I was actually PRODUCTIVE?

What is this world coming to?

Yummy.

So, I've been fursona hopping for a while, now.
My friends and I have been trying
to pin-point the exact animal that could capture my personality.
I've been through a huge list so far.
But, I finally settled on something.
I'm done dicking around with everything else.
Time to get down and dirty.
My animal of choice?

The lovely Siamese.

Mmm... Grape Juice.

So, let's see.
This week I've been at a loss.
There's absolutely nothing inspiring to me.
I've been kicking myself in the butt to try
and stimulate some creative flow...
but all it seems to do is leave foot sized bruises
on my ass.
Good news, though.
I've been coming up with some new poetry
stanzas.
writing helps calm my nerves, just as painting
and sketching tattoos gives me some pep.
It's like uppers and downers, only without
the medical tails that drag along behind.
Though I must say.
Creativity = My Anti Drug.

More later. ♥

What is the matter with you people?

Alright, have you ever had it where there's just
so much nonsense in what people are saying that all
you want to do is turn around and walk in the
other direction?
Don't get me wrong, I value the opinions
and beliefs of others.
But when someone starts openly insulting you
and your own personal way of doing things,
it just gets me really frustrated.
((A woman spent a good 15 minutes criticizing
my opinion on the beauty of body art and piercings,
then another guy spent a good 5 minutes lecturing
me on behaving like a proper woman and, in a sense,
"staying where I belong: in the kitchen" kind of thing))
That just topped off my already crummy week.
Speaking of which: Sorry I couldn't make it
to the benefit or 5-hour mini comic thing, Matt.
I was feeling really sick on Saturday morning,
and I didn't feel like infecting everyone with the
plague. That would have been even more strain
on my shoulders.

Maybe doing some sketches will cool me down.

Rise From the Ashes

Well, as you can see, I'm back.
My computer has been busted for what... 5 months now? Almost 6.
I finally go around to fixing it.
Yay.
Unfortunately, my camera is in the hands of one of my friends,
and I am without a scanner.
I will update frequently, and once the camera is back,
I should be updating with pictures of my work.
We'll see how it goes.

Virtually Dead

You know, when you go from using
the computer for 5 hours a night to
using it maybe once every two weeks...
LIFE BECOMES ABSOLUTE HELL.
I can't do school work on a computer,
I can't upload pictures,
I can't do ANYTHING.
So until my computer's fixed,
consider me being in hibernation.

I Just Have No Luck

So guess what happened Sunday night?
My computer exploded.
It's got a massive virus problem,
and now it won't even start up.
I'm at my town's library for now,
and I won't be updating with pictures
until the one at my house is fixed.
Sorry guys,
tough luck :[
For me, anyways.

Finals Aren't My Specialty

So I'm trying my best to get some more sketch time in,
but unfortunately,
my schedule's been consumed
with studying for various tests I have
coming up. Thankfully, however,
my school doesn't have midterms.
We just splurge all our acquired knowledge out
during finals. However, I'm taking two semester
long courses, Econ and Government.
The semester ends on the 27th, so the 26th
and 27th are the finals for Government,
before we move forward to Econ.
Unfortunately... I haven't touched any of the materials
for studying until now.
Hurray for me.
I'll try my best to sneak in a few sketches,
but otherwise, consider me neck deep
in studying.
Toodles.

My friend Alex is having her 16th birthday
on the 19th, which coincidentally is Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
So, I drew something for her,
but sadly it won't be delivered until the day
AFTER her birthday. I hope she won't be too
upset. I drew her favorite actress, Katherine Moennig.
I just hope she likes it.

So, I finished the picture that I've been working
on that was inspired by Moulin Rouge.
It took roughly 3 hours combined work,
but since I've been busy with school, it took
a couple days to find the time I needed.
It was inspired by my favorite song in
the entire movie called "El Tango De Roxanne"
It may not be a masterpiece,
but hey, I tried.
My friend Jenna and I have a very strange
addiction to funny, pointless, love-storyish movies.
So, she and I are having a movie marathon over
this weekend. It'll give me the opportunity to do
some crazy sketches, and it'll let her go completely nuts
singing along to the movies with me.
Our planned list?
Moulin Rouge (For the 120,934,812,047,294th time)
The Birds
Rent
And anymore we happen to find lying
around my house.
Possibly Lord of the Rings, Starwars,
something of that nature.

Monday, January 12, 2009

So, over the weekend, I went out to the movie store
to rent Moulin Rouge, since I had a craving for scandalous
comedy with a love story twisted in. Only problem:
The store only sold it, didn't rent it out.
I was very upset.
Then my dad happens to be flicking through
the TV channels, and it ends up on E.
And wouldn't you know it: Moulin Rouge was playing.
So after I finished watching,
guess what?
My creative spark came back.
I started a picture with Moulin Rouge's theme in mind.

Past Works

These are a few pictures that I have worked on over the past few months.
Some of them are even from last year and earlier.
I'll see how many I can dig up off my computer.

Welcome

Well, this blog has been created for two main purposes:
1) It was an assignment from my mentor and art teacher, Matt Ryan.
2)This is a much easier way to post my work and what's been going on
rather than resorting to Deviantart.
For as long as I can, I'll be using this blog as a journal for my
newest pieces of work in my art classes and in my general free
time. Hopefully it will last longer than my art lessons.
